About

A refrigeration shop, not an appliance shop

Denver Sub-Zero Repair Experts works on built-in Sub-Zero refrigeration across Denver — the equipment that is bolted into cabinetry and cannot simply be swapped out when it stops holding temperature.

Most of what comes in is one of six or seven faults wearing different symptoms, and on this site most of them are somewhere along the water path rather than in the machine at the end of it. That is why the site is built the way it is: fifty short answers to the questions people actually ring up with, and the path itself, part by part, from the shut-off valve to the ice bin.

Hands working a length of copper line at the compressor of an open machine compartment, gauges laid out on a blanket

Copper work at a compressor. It is the smallest share of what we are called out for, and much the longest visit when it is.

Where we stand

Four things worth knowing before you call

  1. Narrower than a refrigeration shop

Built-in and integrated Sub-Zero refrigeration, and inside that, the ice and the water that makes it: modules, inlet valves, filters, fill tubes, supply lines, bins, drains and undercounter ice machines. The rest of the cabinet gets repaired on the same visit; it is simply not what we are known for.

  2. Diagnosis is the product

Diagnosis is $89, flat: one figure for looking, however long the looking takes. Approve the repair and that $89 is deducted from it. What it buys is the path traced end to end rather than a guess with a van attached: the shut-off found, the fill timed and measured, the inlet screen and the mould looked at, the drain cleared. The part and the figure are agreed with you before anything is ordered.

  3. We say when it is not worth it

Occasionally the honest answer is that a cabinet with a failed compressor and tired everything else is not worth the repair. You will hear that from us on the day rather than after the parts are in, and the visit still ends with the fault written down.

  4. Independent, and clear about it

This is not a manufacturer service arm. We buy Sub-Zero parts through distribution and fit them to factory specification, and the footer of every page says exactly who owns the trademark. Nobody should have to guess who they are calling.

How a call runs

Three steps, and you approve the middle one

Nothing is ordered, fitted or charged for beyond the service call until you have heard the fault and the figure.

  1. 01

Say what the ice is doing

Empty bin, hollow cubes, a taste, a puddle — and the model number from the frame inside the fresh-food door. Those two things decide whether a valve, a module or a bin rides along on the first visit.

  2. 02

The path is traced end to end

Shut-off valve, line, filter, inlet valve, fill tube, mould, bin and drain, in that order, with a meter and a measured fill rather than a guess. You get the fault and one figure for putting it right.

Lower grille removed from a built-in: condenser coil matted grey with dust, condenser fan beside it, vacuum tool and brush ready
  3. 03

Fitted, then watched through a cycle

The part goes in, the mould and screen are descaled, the drain is cleared, and the machine is watched through a full freeze and harvest before anyone packs up.

Book a visit

Say what the ice is doing. We will trace the rest.

$89 flat buys the visit and the whole diagnosis, and comes off the repair when you approve it. Someone picks up 24/7.
